Japanese Print

The image above shows the Japanese print that is on the wall in the Sunroom panorama. The print contains two panels from what was originally a three panel set of prints produced in 1886. It has been torn in places and mounted poorly in the past, so some parts are not aligned correctly and the surface of the paper is not flat. We find the texture of the paper interesting and used a strong side light to highlight it.

The panel on the left shows a "Seashore Moon Party." The panel on the right shows a dance at a temple. Click on either panel above to view a high-resolution zoomable image of the panel.
